Microsoft: Windows 10 builds will soon get new features

Microsoft will soon be adding new features to Windows 10. The software company released a new version for Insiders on Wednesday, but it only contains optimizations under the hood and no new features.

The optimizations are in OneCore, the company reports. OneCore is the “core” that the Windows executables share across all devices, including desktops, tablets, smartphones, and the Xbox One. Build 11099 is an update for users in the so-called ‘fast ring’, the option for quick updates with the possibility that the builds have major bugs.

Microsoft previously said that the Fast Ring updates would contain more bugs and it shows. Because there are problems with logging in to Citrix XenDesktop, Microsoft recommends users to switch to the Slow Ring. Crashes can also occur with applications that use Flash, such as Skype.

Microsoft says it expects major new features in Windows 10 in a few builds. A few days ago, the Redmond software maker released an update for its smartphone operating system Windows 10 Mobile.
