Microsoft allows permanent background images in Teams

Microsoft makes it possible in Teams to choose a default background. The image remains active as long as the user does not change it himself, and this also applies to different conversations.

It’s the background image or background effect that users set in Teams. Until now, users always had to change them per video call. A Microsoft employee says on the Teams User Voice forum that this is no longer necessary: ”The default wallpaper feature is now live. The wallpaper you choose will remain for all your conversations until users decide to change it.”

Microsoft is thus responding to a request from many users, who already asked for it a few weeks ago. The feature is in the latest version of the program. For the time being it is not possible to set a specific background per person or per conversation. It is not clear whether the function will be opt-in or opt-out.
