Some users of Mac systems who have upgraded their OS to version 10.12 Sierra are experiencing problems using different Logitech mice. In addition, users state that the resolution of external monitors cannot be scaled above 1080p.

Some Logitech mouse users report experiencing scrolling stutters, while for others some buttons no longer respond, or don’t respond properly, after updating their Mac system to macOS Sierra. In particular, it concerns the wireless M705 mouse from Logitech and the Performance MX. It is not known whether other models also cause problems.

Users are reporting the issues to the MacRumors forum and Logitech’s community page, where they were raised before the official release of macOS 10.12 Sierra. At least in part, the cause seems to be the lack of Sierra support from the Logitech Control Center. An employee of the company says it is not known when LCC Sierra will receive support.

Several users on Reddit indicate that they can no longer set an external monitor with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels to a resolution higher than 1920×1080 pixels. Also on Apple’s support forum people indicate that they experience problems with this. “I have a 2105 Retina MacBook Pro with an external 4k display, Asus PB287Q, and since updating to Sierra yesterday, I can no longer choose scaled resolutions between 1920×1080 and 3840×2160 pixels,” reports user dkentley, for example. Users with different types of monitors agree with him. Again, it is not known how widespread the problems are.

It often happens after a major update of an OS that there are problems with peripherals. Apple has been putting its Mac software publicly in beta since OS X 10.9 Mavericks to iron out most of the pre-release issues.

Update, Friday, 09.15: Logitech has now rolled out support for Sierra to Logitech Control Center.
