LG has announced the Stylus 2 ahead of Mobile World Congress. This 5.7″ smartphone is equipped with a stylus and aimed at the midrange market. The smartphone is the successor of last year’s G4 Stylus.

The Stylus 2 has a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The soc is an unnamed quad-core with a clock speed of 1.2GHz and there is 1.5GB RAM and 16GB storage memory, which can be expanded with a microsd memory card.

The front camera is an 8-megapixel copy and there is also a 13-megapixel camera. The battery capacity is 3000mAh. Furthermore, the device is 7.4 mm thick, weighs 145 grams and LG supplies it with Android 6.0.

Its distinguishing feature is the presence of a stylus and LG has added several features that take advantage of this, such as Pen Pop, which among other things automatically launches a memo app when the stylus is removed from its holder. In addition, Pen Keeper shows a notification if the smartphone starts moving without the stylus in the phone, to prevent you from losing the pen. Unlike last year’s G4 Stylus, the stylus features a nano coated tip instead of a rubber cap. This should improve accuracy.

LG does not disclose prices but speaks of exceptionally-priced, which in combination with the hardware properties indicates a mid-range device, where Samsung focuses on the high-end with the Galaxy Note.
