Leaker Jon Prosser has published renders of the alleged iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Pro models would no longer have a notch. The devices would instead get a punch-hole camera, with Face ID sensors behind the screen.

Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech claims in a YouTube video that he saw photos of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Based on these images, Ian Zelbo has recreated renders to protect the identity of Prosser’s sources. The renders can be viewed on the Front Page Tech website.

The renders show a smartphone with an iPhone 4-like design. According to Prosser, this gives the device round volume buttons. A thicker housing is also expected, so that the camera island on the back of the device no longer protrudes. The frame would be made of titanium. Prosser makes no further mention of Touch ID. Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated in June that the iPhone 14 phones may have a Touch ID fingerprint scanner behind the screen.

On the front of the Pro Max device is a punch-hole camera for selfies. Face ID facial recognition will remain, according to Prosser, although the sensors for this would be behind the screen. This all corresponds to previous information from Ming-Chi Kuo, who previously stated that at least the iPhone Pro models that appear in 2022 will get a punch-hole camera. Prosser expects that the regular iPhone 14 models will get a notch, although that is not certain yet.

The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to launch in the second half of next year. In the meantime, Apple is still coming with the iPhone 13 smartphones, which will probably be unveiled during the Apple event on September 14. Since the release of the iPhone 14 series is probably still a year away, it is possible that Apple will adjust the design before that time. These renders by Jon Prosser should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.
