The first thirteen volumes of Nintendo Power have been published on Archive.org. The magazine was created in 1988 and all editions up to issue 145 from June 2001 can now be browsed digitally. The magazines contain, among other things, tips and cheats for games.

Nintendo Power was published by Nintendo of America until 2007. After that, the magazine continued independently, until it closed in 2012. The first edition appeared in July 1988, with a Mario figure made of clay on the cover. The magazine in question and the 144 issues that followed have now been published in their full glory on the Internet Archive. The first edition includes tips for playing Super Mario Bros. 2. For example, readers get tips on how to jump in three different ways. The magazines also contain comic strips on game themes.

In the 1990s, Nintendo gave new subscribers to the magazine a copy of the NES game Dragon Quest. The action is said to have been created to get rid of the cartridges that were left over after disappointing sales. The promotion resulted in thousands of new subscribers. 3.6 million copies of the first edition were distributed. All members of the Nintendo Fan Club received a magazine. The last edition, which appeared in December 2012, had a circulation of 475,000 copies.
