From October 21, Instagram will give every user the option to post items to their feed via a desktop browser. The Collabs function will also appear, for posting messages to multiple accounts.

Videos posted to the feed via a desktop may not be longer than one minute, TechCrunch reports, among others. There are no further restrictions for posting photos. The feature should be available to all users worldwide on October 21. The capability was already tested on the platform in June.

With one of the other new features, called Collabs, users can “double-post” feed posts as well as Reels to multiple accounts. When two Instagram users are on a photo together, it becomes possible to post the same photo on the page of both channels. Both accounts will be displayed as ‘author’. The likes, views and comments will also be the same. This feature was already tested among a small group of users in July, but it should be available to everyone this week.

In addition, a new option makes it possible to instantly create a fundraiser post, which allows users to link a charity directly to the post. There are also two new features for Instagram Reels. Superbeat makes it possible to add effects to the beat of the music and Dynamic Lyrics can display lyrics in 3D on the screen. These features, like desktop posting, will appear on October 21.
