A developer is developing a Plex application for the Xbox One. Although the developer has no official relationship with Plex, he has received permission from Microsoft to release the app for the console.

It is about the developer Tyson Edwards, who announced his project on the Plex forums. In a message, he states that Microsoft has given the green light to release a Plex app for the Xbox One through the ID@Xbox program, which is intended for independent developers.

Tyson plans to give Plex for Xbox the same functionality as Plex for Windows 8. It is not known when the software will be released. The software has yet to be developed, so the app will probably only be released in a few months.

With Plex it is possible to stream and synchronize content between devices. The software is already available for most operating systems, as well as several mobile operating systems and devices such as the Chromecast and the recently announced Amazon FireTV.
