HTC is working on a modified version of its Vive VR headset, according to a new rumor. The headset would be codenamed Oasis. There are no details yet about the features that the manufacturer would like to add to its next VR headset.

By the wording from twitterer LlabTooFeR it seems to be a variant of the Vive. The twitterer, known for his solid information about unannounced HTC products and software, says it is a “refreshed” Vive headset.

HTC has so far not commented on when it will follow the VR headset with a new version. Competitor Oculus showed a wireless VR headset with built-in hardware at the beginning of October, but this headset is still in the prototype phase. It is unknown whether Oculus is also working on an update to the Rift with wire.

The Vive first came out this spring. The manufacturer does not disclose how many copies of its products have been sold, but it says it is going well with the sale of the HTC Vive. Earlier in October, HTC would have said that ‘more than 140,000 copies’ of the VR glasses have been sold.
