Former Huawei subsidiary Honor has announced the Honor 60 and 60 Pro in China. These are two phones with almost the same design and many of the same specs. It is still unknown whether the phones will also come to Europe.
The two phones are very similar but have a few differences. The Honor 60 has a 6.67-inch OLED display measuring 15.5×7.0 cm with a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels, while the 60 Pro has a 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2652×1200 pixels. Refresh both displays at 120Hz.
Both phones run on a Qualcomm soc. It concerns the Snapdragon 778G with the Honor 60 and a 778G Plus with the 60 Pro. The Plus version has two clusters of Arm Cortex A78 cores. One core runs at a maximum of 2.5GHz, while the three others run at a maximum of 2.4GHz. The regular 778G has four Cortex A78 cores that all come out at a maximum of 2.4GHz.
Both models have a primary 108-megapixel camera. The 60 Pro has a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, while that comes from 60 to 8 megapixels. The 60 also has a 2-megapixel macro camera.
The phones run Magic UI 5.0 on top of Android 11 and will be available immediately in China. The Honor 60 starts at 2699 yuan, or around 375 euros. The 60 Pro starts at 3699 yuan, 515 euros. Nothing is known about a release outside of Europe. Honor has been in the hands of a consortium led by the Shenzhen government for about a year and can therefore use 5G socs and Google services again.
