The government and the business community will exchange more information about ‘cybersecurity incidents’. The National Cyber Security Center has announced this. Initially, only government and educational institutions participate.

If one organization detects a digital threat, other participating organizations can be notified. The Tax Authorities, the provider for educational institutions Surfnet and the security service for municipalities, among others, participate in the so-called National Response Network. Other organizations and companies will be added later.

Organizations that participate remain responsible for the security of their networks, emphasizes spokesperson Edmond Messchaert of the Ministry of Security and Justice, but sharing information should ensure that they can respond better to new threats. According to the ministry, it is only a matter of time until the next major security incident.
