GoPro has introduced its Hero 12 Black. According to GoPro, this action cam lasts twice as long on a battery charge as its predecessor. The camera also gets support for Bluetooth audio. The action cam costs 450 euros and will be released on September 13.

The GoPro Hero 12 Black again offers a 5.3k sensor that can take 27-megapixel photos. With this generation, the camera can record HDR videos with a 5.3k resolution. This is possible with a maximum of 30fps or 4k with 60fps. The camera is also more economical than before. According to GoPro, the battery life is up to twice as long as that of the Hero 11 Black. This applies when using a supplied Enduro battery.

The GoPro also has support for audio equipment via Bluetooth. Users can, for example, connect wireless earplugs such as AirPods. The camera also gets improved HyperSmooth image stabilization and a vertical 9:16 recording mode at up to 4k and 30fps. That recording mode also works when the camera is mounted horizontally. This time the housing has blue speckles; the previous model was completely black.

GoPro is also introducing a Max Lens Mod 2.0 kit. It contains various lens hoods, with which users can increase the camera’s field of view to a maximum of 177 degrees; that’s 36 percent more than the standard field of view of the Hero 12 Black, according to GoPro. A set with a GoPro Hero 12 Black plus the lens mod kit costs 537.98 euros. The camera itself costs 450 euros separately.
