Google changes ‘My Activity’ page with all history in one place

Google has set up a page for tracking activity on Google assets, both from mobile apps and through the browser. ‘My Activity’ is Google’s new hub where everything it does with personal information can be controlled. Preventing advertisements is also becoming clearer.

The latter will soon be communicated to users of Google services via a message. A pop-up prompting the user to check their security settings includes the ability to allow Google to use any information collected from an account to display personalized ads outside of the search giant’s own services. The latter is still happening with cookies, something that Wired says will change soon.

The ‘My Activity’ page plays a part in this, as it is the central place where Google shows the user all the information it collects about an individual. Here you can switch on or off for each part which part does or does not store information about the use.

In a card-like environment, all data from the past can also be erased per part, but also per unit of time or per subject type. The Mountain View company is also in the process of changing the page where ad settings are controlled. You can also personalize ads as a Google user without a Google account, but then it only works on a single browser and not across all devices used.

The services for which My Activity can change settings are Ads, Android, Books, Chrome, Developers, Express, Finance, Goggles, Help, Image Search, Maps, News, Now, Play, Play Music, Search, Shopping, Video Search, Voice & Audio and YouTube.
