Google will hold a keynote during the Game Developer Conference on March 19. The invitation does not indicate what the presentation will be about, but there may be news about Project Stream, a game streaming service that Google is working on.

Several American media have received the invitation, including The Verge. The invitation only contains the date, time and location and the phrase “everything will be revealed.” Because this is a keynote at the Game Developer Conference, it is clear that the presentation has to do with games.

Google launched Project Stream in October last year. That was a test for streaming games in Chrome, which was conducted with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. There have been rumors for some time about a streaming service for games from Google. It would initially have been codenamed Yeti.

It is not the first time that Google has been present at the GDC, but in previous years the search giant has organized small sessions for developers of Android games. This time it is a keynote, a large presentation where a lot of media will be present. That indicates an important announcement.

Microsoft is also working on a streaming service for games. The company does this under the working title Project xCloud and it uses blade servers with Xbox One hardware. Amazon is also reportedly working on a similar service. Amazon bought Twitch in 2014.
