God of War Ragnarök is getting free Valhalla DLC next week

God of War Ragnarök is getting free DLC this month. Developer Santa Monica Studio announced this during the Game Awards. The DLC, called Valhalla, forms a kind of epilogue for the game and will be available on December 12.

The Valhalla DLC takes place after the final boss battle in God of War Ragnarök, Santa Monica reports in a blog post. Kratos, together with Mimir, travels to Valhalla to participate in various trials. The DLC contains dungeons full of monsters. The DLC will be roguelike: if Kratos dies, he wakes up outside the gates of Valhalla and has to try the challenges again. Players can gradually unlock permanent upgrades for Kratos, which should make future attempts easier.
