Firmware Update: Synology Disk Station Manager 4.3 build 3776.3

A third update for version 4.3 of Disk Station Manager has been released. Synology DSM is the management software that runs on several of the company’s NAS products. The Disk, Cube and Rack Stations offer more than just extra storage space. For example, backups of all clients on the network can be made and files can be downloaded via http, ftp, bittorrent, usenet and emule, so that, for example, energy-hungry PCs can switch off at night, while the download just comes in. In addition, audio and video files can be streamed over the network via the built-in iTunes server, a dynamic website can be hosted using PHP and MySQL and the device can act as a print server.

This update, which is marked as critical, can only be installed over DSM 4.3 build 3776 and is only suitable for the NAS models ending with 10 or higher. For the other conditions, see this page. Fixed Issues

• Enhanced the security while logging in to DSM via telnet.
• Enhanced CalDAV compatibility with Calendar in iOS7.
• Enhanced the stability for ODX transfer ring.
• Enhanced the security of DSM operating system.
• Optimized CPU usage when multiple HTTP connections are established to the same Synology NAS.
• Fixed an issue where downloading a whole folder may fail in Internet Explorer.
• Fixed an issue where the banner of Photo Viewer and Video Viewer may be hidden if Remove Banner in Control Panel > Application Portal > Options is selected.
• Fixed an issue where Synology NAS may not be able to hibernate when Audio Station is running.

Compatibility and Installation

• DSM 4.3-3776 Update 3 can only be installed on Synology products running DSM 4.3-3776 via DSM Update. Please log in to DSM and go to Control Panel > DSM Update to install the update.
• All the fixes that have been delivered in DSM 4.3-3776 Update 1 and Update 2 are included in this update.
