Epic Games has postponed Season 3 of Fortnite Chapter 2 to June 4. The season was initially scheduled to come out in two weeks. The developer gives no reason for the delay.

In a blog post, Epic Games says that the developer will continue the current season of Fortnite after April 30. Season three of Fortnite Chapter 2 was initially scheduled to release around May 1, but that release has been moved to June. At the same time, the developer reports that there will be “a lot of new content” for the current season, including “new gameplay”, bonus XP, new challenges and “more surprises”. There should also be more ways to unlock the golden battle pass styles.

The developer gives no reason for the delay. So it’s not clear whether Epic Games has done this because of the coronavirus, forcing many developers to work from home. Previously, The Last of Us Part II, among others, was postponed due to the virus outbreak, although that was done due to logistical problems. Earlier this year, Epic Games also delayed the release of the current season.
