Enermax introduces Thorex and Ostrog Q housing

During Computex, manufacturer Enermax introduced two housings: the Thorex and Ostrog Q housings. Both are based on the same chassis, but received a different finish. In addition, the company showed a prototype full tower.

The Thorex is based on a mid-tower design with space for atx and matx motherboards with a power supply at the bottom of the housing. The enclosure holds two 5.25″ drives and the hard drive hard drive cage is divided into a 2.5″ section for four drives and a lower section for three 3.5″ drives. The chassis is 427mm high and only comes with a 120mm fan in the rear, but there is room for two 120mm fans in the front, two in the side and a single 120mm fan in the top.

The Ostrog Q is based on exactly the same interior, but has a different finish. Where the front panel of the Thorex is dangerous looking plastic with grilles, the Ostrog Q has a more rustic appearance. The front panel connectors, consisting of a single USB 2.0 and 3.0 port and audio connections, are also on the front of the Ostrog Q: with the Thorex they are on top. The housings have room for coolers up to 165mm high and video cards up to 390mm. The housings cost almost the same: the Thorex is 41.90 euros, while the OStrog Q is slightly cheaper at 39.90 euros.

Another Ostrog housing is still being worked on: Enermax showed a prototype of the Ostrog Advanced. This full tower would include a built-in fan controller, hot swap bays for 2.5″ drives and plenty of space for water cooling. The housing should be ready this year.
