Steve Jobs announced that same year that the Mac version of Halo would be released simultaneously with the Windows version. A year later, however, Bungie was bought by Microsoft, which released the game as an Xbox exclusive in 2001. Halo was released for Windows and Mac at the end of 2003. Halo 2 also appeared for the PC, later parts in the series Microsoft only released on its own consoles.
