Details, images and videos of the Forge mode from Halo Infinite have been leaked. This shows that the Forge mode will, among other things, get advanced scripting functions, which will allow players to create new game modes.

Details and videos about the Halo Infinite Forge mode were published on Twitter by HaloNoticiasMX. The leaks indicate that the upcoming Halo title will have a Forge mode with a ‘node editor’, reminiscent of Unreal Engine’s Blueprint scripting method. Through this editor, users can customize various aspects of the game to create new game modes and mini-games.

In previous Halo games, the feature served more as a map editor with more limited scripting functions, with which players could, for example, make objects appear at specific times, Windows Central also writes. In Halo Infinite, the feature would have more advanced scripting capabilities. This allows players to script events via the node editor that affect the players, objects, vehicles and items. Players can also take advantage of timers, win conditions and ‘triggers’.

Halo Infinite will be released on December 8, after being delayed several times. However, Forge mode will not be available immediately upon release. Developer 343 Industries previously indicated that the company focuses on the single player campaign and the multiplayer mode. A co-op feature for the campaign is planned for three months after release, with Forge to be released another three months later. The game will be released for Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. The game’s multiplayer will be free-to-play.
