The iOS 14 code contains two icons that represent a light and a dark version of over-ear headphones. There have been rumors for some time that Apple will bring such headphones on the market, although there is no official information about it yet.

The website 9to5Mac got hold of code from an early version of iOS 14 and found the icons in it. It is probably a wireless headset, although there are no further details except for the icons. The suspected product has not yet been officially announced.

Judging by the colors, there will be a white or light version, a dark or black version, although those color differences may also have to do with the light or dark theme in iOS. There seems to be cushions on the ear cups and under the headband. The graphical symbols would be used in several places in iOS 14, including in the widget that shows the charge level of the battery.

There have been rumors for some time that Apple is working on wireless over-ear headphones. Apple insider Mark Gurman came up with this information two years ago, echoing similar information from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo then indicated that it would be a product that ‘must combine the convenience of the AirPods with better sound quality’.
