Asus confirms that it will release AMD Radeon GPUs under the Arez brand name. Apart from the other brand name, there are no differences between the current Radeon models and the video cards that appear under the Arez name.

Under the Arez name, Asus will release Radeon graphics cards in the Expedition, Phoenix, Strix and Dual lines from May. Asus currently provides Radeon cards in the Strix line of the Republic of Gamers or ROG brand name, but it seems that from now on that name for game products will only be linked to Nvidia cards.

According to Asus, the company will continue to use its Auto-Extreme, Super Alloy Power II, MaxContact and FanConnect II techniques for the Arez family, and AMD and Asus will collaborate to further develop GPU Tweak II and Radeon Adrenalin Edition software. The new Arez brand underscores the strong partnership between Asus and AMD that has existed for decades.

An Arez category has also appeared on the Asus website, although no further details are available there yet. There was previously a rumor that Asus was planning to release the AMD Radeon GPUs under a new brand name. Other manufacturers such as Gigabyte and MSI also seem to use their game brands Aorus and Gaming X respectively only for Nvidia GPUs and no longer use them for AMD GPUs.

These steps are related to any existing Nvidia affiliate program. The website HardOCP previously reported that the so-called Geforce Partners Program, or GPP, requires participants to link their gaming brands exclusively to Nvidia. If manufacturers don’t, they lose certain benefits such as marketing funds, the website claims. Asus seems to respond to this by linking the ROG brand name to Nvidia and using the Arez name for AMD GPUs.
