Apple has stopped distributing iOS 9.3.2 update for the 9.7″ iPad Pro over reports that the tablets will become unusable after updating. The company says it is working on the issue and will provide more information as soon as possible.

Apple gave the brief response to the situation to iMore.com. The problems with the smaller iPad Pro started over the past week. Some users who installed update 9.3.2 on their tablet were subsequently unable to launch it and were presented with an error message instructing them to connect the device to a computer with iTunes on it. However, this does nothing. The error code, ‘Error 56’, according to documentation, indicates a hardware problem, but there is no further information.

The issue does not occur on all 9.7″ iPad Pros, according to user reports, and the 12.9″ model is completely out of the question. It is not clear at this time whether Apple’s solution will soon be able to take the affected iPad Pros out of their bricked state. In any case, 9to5Mac reports that there are users who claim that Apple branches have exchanged the unusable iPad Pros.
