Apple requires direct deletion of accounts in apps starting June 30

Starting June 30, App Store developers must enable users to delete user accounts directly through the app. This measure only applies to apps in which account creation is possible and comes after Apple has already postponed the measure.

The option to delete a user account should be according to Apple are easy to find in the app. Apps that only offer the option to temporarily deactivate user accounts do not comply with the company’s rules because users must be able to actually delete their account, including their personal data.

From June 30, apps that organize online group activities must mandatory use of in-app purchases to provide their services. This measure was already introduced in 2020 but has been postponed several times.
