Apple has released iOS 13.5.1. The new version of the OS not only installs security updates, it also removes the possibility of jailbreaking. The Unc0ver jailbreak can no longer be used under that iOS and iPadOS version.

According to Apple, the latest version of iOS closes a vulnerability in the working memory of the kernel of iPhones and iPads. CVE-2020-9859 is a zero-day that allows an attacker to run code remotely on a phone or tablet. iOS 13.5.1 and iPadOS 13.5.1 plug that leak.

The vulnerability was not only exploited for possible attacks, but also for a jailbreak. Last month, the Unc0ver jailbreak was released, which worked on recent iPhones and iPads. It’s rare that jailbreaks come out for iOS versions that are still this new, although that has been happening more often lately.
