Apple has started a replacement program for owners of the 13 “MacBook Pro laptops without Touch Bar manufactured between October 2016 and October 2017. The batteries of these laptops can fail and swell.
According to Apple, the problem only occurs with MacBook Pro models without Touch Bar that were created between October 2016 and October 2017. The models with Touch Bar and newer laptops seem to be safe.
Users of laptops with faulty batteries can be replaced free of charge at an Apple Store or authorized Apple store.If the computer has other damage that is in the way of replacing the battery, there the repair costs will be charged.
