According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will launch two iPhone models with 6.1″ screens and two with 6.7″ screens next year. A smaller phone, such as a successor to the iPhone 12 Mini with a 5.4″ diagonal, would not appear.

Apple would therefore stop with the iPhone Mini phones from next year and only come with 6.1″ and 6.7″ variants for the iPhone 14, in which two cases would be high-end models. Apple Insider writes that on the basis of the reporting by Ming-Chi Kuo. The various iPhone 13 devices still have to appear first; they are expected to be announced in September this year. Presumably then, a smaller iPhone will be released for the last time.

According to Kuo, the high-end models for 2022 will get a larger 1/1.3 “sensor and a 48-megapixel camera, with an output of 48 megapixels and 12 megapixels. In the latter case, the pixel size would be at a relatively large size. 2.5μm format. If the 48-megapixel resolution is used, it will be 1.7μm. According to Kuo, this year’s iPhone 13 devices would have a sensor with 2.0μm pixel size. It is likely that with the iPhones from 2022 are also possible to make 8k recordings, while current iPhones do not go beyond a 4k resolution.

The decision to reportedly stop the smaller iPhone from next year could also be related to alleged disappointing sales results of the current iPhone 12 Mini. Nikkei Asia reported last month that Apple will cut production of this model by 70 percent or more in the first half of this year.
