AMD will release its first processors based on the Zen 3 architecture this year. Lisa Su, the CEO of the company, makes this known in a video. Su also says that Zen 3 ‘looks good in the lab’.

AMD published the video after the release of its most recent Ryzen XT processors. The company’s roadmap already stated that the CPUs would be released this year, but the company did not clarify whether these were Ryzen or Epyc CPUs.

Now AMD’s CEO says in a video about Ryzen: “With Ryzen, we always try to deliver the best performance. Zen 3 does exactly that. We are on track to release it later this year.” This suggests that it concerns Ryzen CPUs based on Zen 3 that will be released this year. There have been rumors circulating that this might be the case.

The Zen 3 architecture is made on a 7nm process from TSMC. The exact node is not yet known. The company previously used the 7nm+ naming convention for Zen 3. However, the company dropped this denominator earlier this year to avoid confusion with TSMC’s N7+ node based on EUV lithography, Anandtech writes.
