The release of Alan Wake II has been pushed back from October 17 to October 27. With October being a “great month for game releases,” developer Remedy hopes this date will “give more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games.”

Which games players now have ‘more space to enjoy’, Remedy doesn’t tell. In October, games such as Forza Motorsport, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Cities Skylines 2, Alone in the Dark and Total War: Pharaoh will be released.

Alan Wake 2 is released 13 years after the original. The game is a third-person shooter and a survival horror game, just like its predecessor. The story draws a lot of inspiration from the television series Twin Peaks. In addition, Alan Wake and Control are in the same fictional universe. A DLC for Control was the first occasion where the two games ‘came together’. A remaster of Alan Wake was also released in 2021.

Alan Wake II will be released for Windows, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. On Windows, the game is exclusive to the Epic Games Store.
