ABN Amro has announced a public test in which the bank wants people to pay contactless via a watch, bracelet or key ring. People can also pay with a ring, which the bank already tested last year.

According to the bank, the test period lasts four months and a maximum of five hundred interested parties can register. They then have to share their findings with the bank by means of an app. The wearables come from the British company Kerv, which was also responsible for the production of the ring. They are equipped with an NFC chip with which the payments can be made.

According to the bank, the wearable is linked to a payment account and this link expires after the trial period, so that it can no longer be paid with. Moreover, it is only possible to spend up to 25 euros per payment, because the wearables do not have a PIN code. Paying works in the same way as a regular NFC payment.

Last year, the bank already carried out a test with a ceramic ring with an NFC chip. According to ABN Amro, this test was successful and is therefore now being tested with more wearables.
