Microsoft is going to replace Wunderlist with its own ‘To-Do’ app

Microsoft has released a preview of a new app from the company called To-Do. The app was developed by the team behind Wunderlist, which Microsoft acquired in 2015. Wunderlist itself is going to disappear.

The to-do list app will be available for iPhone, Android and Windows 10, in addition to a browser version. The colored lists allow users to organize tasks, something that the Intelligent Suggestions feature should help with. It provides suggestions and proposes priorities, among other things, based on previous lists, appointments and other information.

Microsoft promises to bring popular features from Wunderlist to To-Do, making it clear that the preview still lacks these elements. For example, Microsoft mentions functions such as sharing lists and versions for the Mac, iPad and Android tablets that are still missing. Further integration with other Microsoft services should also be on the horizon.

It is not clear when Wunderlist will disappear permanently. Microsoft says this will be the case if the company is confident that “the best of Wunderlist is integrated into To-Do.” The preview of To-Do can be enabled via the Office 365 admin center. Microsoft acquired Berlin-based 6Wunderkinder from the popular to-do app Wunderlist in 2015.
