Life is Strange 2 launches Thursday for macOS and Linux

British game publisher Feral Interactive has announced that the macOS and Linux versions of the game Life is Strange 2 will be released on December 19. The download will be available from Thursday through the Steam platform.

Life is Strange 2, the episodic game from Dontnod Entertainment, was previously available for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The first of a total of five episodes was released on these platforms on September 27, 2018. The new port to macOS and Linux is the work of Feral Interactive, which previously also released the Life is Strange games and the prequel Life is Strange: Before the Storm to Mac and Linux computers.

In Life is Strange 2, brothers Sean and Daniel lead a normal life in the Washington city of Seattle, until a tragic event changes their lives. They flee to Mexico, a journey with all kinds of challenges and dangers.

The system requirements of Life is Strange 2 for macOS and Linux has not yet been disclosed by Feral Interactive. For the port of the original 2016 game, Mac users will need at least a computer with a 1.8GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, and macOS 10.11. The Linux version requires at least a computer with Intel i3 or AMD FX6300 and 4GB of ram.

The price of the game has not yet been announced. As an indication: the five episodes of Life is Strange 2 for Windows cost 7.99 euros per part or 39.95 euros for the complete season.
