Yelo Play app from Telenet gets Chromecast and AirPlay support

Telenet has given its Yelo Play app support for Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay. That happened with an update of the app for iOS and Android. Chromecast support for the streaming service is a frequently requested feature.

With the addition, users of the Android app will be able to stream the image in the streaming service to their TV via Chromecast, while users of the iOS version can choose from Apple AirPlay and Chromecast. The update of the iOS version arrived on Monday at the first customers on iPhones and iPads.

The support for the streaming protocols is quite unexpected. Last month said the cableman on Twitter nothing about the Chromecast support now available. Many customers were waiting for it so they could start streaming images from the app to a TV.

Yelo Play is Telenet’s mobile TV service and works on mobile devices if the customer purchases a television and internet subscription. That also works outdoors via 4g and 3g. Customers with a Wigo subscription can turn on Free G, which gives Yelo Play, together with a few other apps, a different, broader data bundle.
