Xiaomi will present its Mi 11 smartphone, equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-soc, next week. The manufacturer has planned the presentation in China for next Monday. Xiaomi is the first to release a Snapdragon 888 phone.

The invitation on Weibo does not give away anything about the specs or details of the phone, but the manufacturer promises several ‘breakthroughs’. Xiaomi would like to release the phone in China shortly after the announcement, although the release in Europe often follows later. It would only be the Mi 11 and not a Mi 11 Pro.

The American chip designer announced this at the beginning of this month. It is the first high-end soc for smartphones with an integrated 5G modem. The soc further focuses on the combination with a camera with the addition of a triple image signal processor. There is also a Cortex X1 core for the first time and a more robust chip for AI-related calculations.

There are still few rumors about the Mi 11. Xiaomi has had the Mi series of phones for years, in which the Mi 10 was released last year. Xiaomi would not be the only one to bring forward the presentation of new models. Samsung would like to present the Galaxy S21 models in mid-January. OnePlus would also like to do the presentation of its new high-end model relatively early in the year.
