Belarusian Wargaming announces that World of Tanks will be playable on the PlayStation 4 from January 19. Like the editions for other platforms, the version for PS4 is free to play. In the mmog, players compete against each other from the cockpit of a tank.

The version for PlayStation 4 supports Share Play and Vita Remote Play. There are also Trophies to be won in the game. Wargaming tries to make money by selling virtual items. There are four different Founder’s Packs for sale. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to spend money on the game. It’s not even necessary to have a PlayStation Plus subscription to play online. Anyone who does have such a subscription will receive a Premium Bundle from Wargaming containing a Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. J, a so-called German Light Tank. You can also get a bonus without a subscription; if you log in before January 31, you will receive a T1E6-PS tank.

World of Tanks has been on the market since 2010. At that time the version for Windows was only playable in Russian. Since then, Wargaming has continued to expand the game’s reach. As of 2011, the game is playable in both China and the western world. The game was released in early 2014 for the Xbox 360 and a year later for the Xbox One. Besides World of Tanks, Wargaming also makes World of Warships. It is also working on a remake of the classic space-rts Master of Orion.
