A photo of the Olympus Pen-F has leaked. It can be concluded from this that the advanced compact system camera has an angular appearance with many adjustment buttons. It is also the first Pen camera with an electronic viewfinder.

The photo has been published by the Japanese digicame-info, which regularly shows small photos of unannounced cameras. According to rumors from 43rumors, the camera will be officially announced on January 27 and a kit with 14-42mm EZ lens will be available for a suggested retail price of around 1500 euros. The photo shows the device with the Olympus 75 mm f/1.8.

Olympus probably wants to compete with other high-end cameras with a rangefinder-like appearance with the Pen-F, including the Panasonic Lumix GX8 and the Fujifilm X-Pro2 that will be released soon. Like the GX8, the camera will probably get a 20-megapixel sensor of the micro four thirds format.

It is the first camera in the Pen series to have an electronic viewfinder. The slightly larger OM-D models already had an evf. With the name Olympus Pen-F, the manufacturer refers to an analog classic: the Pen F. This half-frame camera, which used a roll of film with negatives of 18×24 mm, was launched in 1963.
