WhatsApp is working on the ability to pin messages within a conversation

WhatsApp is working on the ability to pin a specific message within a conversation. The company is now testing that in beta. This feature allows users to retrieve a message from the top of a conversation window.

The feature is in beta version 2.23.7.3 of the Android app, writes WABetaInfo, but is not yet available to every beta tester. In the update, it is possible to pin an individual message, just as it is now possible with a chat conversation with a contact. It’s not clear when the feature will finally become available or if it will in the first place, but that seems inevitable; Pinning messages is a highly requested addition by users.

WABetaInfo demonstrates how that feature works. Users can then bring up message options by pressing and holding the message. When users pin a message, a new icon appears with the message and the message appears at the top of a chat. It is not clear if that is only possible with a single message or if several messages can be pinned at once.
