Warpia has introduced the Easy Dock. The docking station allows users to wirelessly connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers to a notebook. A USB dongle is required for the connection.

People who alternate between mobile and desk work can easily change their workplace using the Easy Dock. The set consists of a USB dongle that is plugged into the laptop and a receiver to which a monitor, audio, keyboard and mouse can be connected via DVI, 3.5 mm jack and USB respectively. The connection between dongle and receiver is made automatically.

Due to the limited bandwidth, the maximum resolution for the external display is 1400×1050 pixels at 32-bit color, while the sound is limited to 48kHz 16-bit stereo. Warpia doesn’t specify how big the distance between dongle and receiver can be, but says it works within one room.

The docking station uses technology from Wisair, a manufacturer of USB wireless equipment. The communication between dongle and receiver is encrypted with 128-bit AES encryption. The Easy Dock works with Windows 7, Vista and XP as well as OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard. The suggested retail price of the Easy Dock amounts to $150 and the device should be available immediately. A DVI to VGA adapter is included.
