Video shows floating feature for Google search bar in Android

A video has emerged of a floating search window feature in the Google Pixel launcher for Android. The feature is likely to be included in the next upgrade, which will arrive in December.

Android Authority’s video shows that the search bar remains small at the bottom of the screen in the app drawer, where this is not the case now. The search bar is also just above the keyboard when typing, instead of at the top of the screen. That makes fixing typos easier. The search bar can search locally on the phone or via search engine Google. The flag to activate the feature is included in the latest beta of Android 14 QPR1. That’s for the December feature drop, the next upgrade for Pixel phones.
