Valve has released SteamOS version 3.5.5 for all Steam Deck users. The new version makes HDR possible, offers VRR support for external screens and lets users set the color balance.

The update, which has been in beta since mid-September, gives users access to color settings. According to Valve the Steam Deck with LCD now emulates the SRGB color spectrum, which should result in slightly warmer and more vibrant colors. Furthermore, the update makes images in HDR possible, there is support for a variable refresh rate via the Dock and settings for voltage offset have been added. The update should also make Bluetooth connections more stable and performance improvements have been made. SteamOS 3.5.5 is the first operating system update compatible with the recently released Steam Deck OLED.
