Unannounced Microsoft Surface Go 3 appears at online store

An unannounced Microsoft Surface Go 3 has surfaced at a Thai retailer. This ‘tabtop’ will have 4GB or 8GB of memory and an Intel Amber Lake-Y chip. Microsoft is expected to announce the Surface Go 3 on September 22, at its Surface event.

The Microsoft Surface Go 3 was spotted by German tech website WinFuture. The device could be pre-ordered from Shopee via Thai retailer ITCity, although the product page has since been taken offline. The product page featured several details about the upcoming Surface Go model. The device would also have appeared at German online stores such as Media Markt and Saturn, WinFuture reports.

Microsoft would, among other things, introduce models with an Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y dual-core with 4 or 8GB of memory. In addition, the 4GB variant has 64GB of eMMC storage, while the 8GB model gets a 128GB SSD. The Thai web store also confirms that there will be an Intel Core i3-10100Y variant, with 8GB of memory and 128GB of SSD storage. All variants get an integrated Intel UHD Graphics 615 GPU. The two Intel chips both have a TDP of 7W and are passively cooled.

According to the web store, the Surface Go 3 will again get a touch-sensitive 10.5 “display with a resolution of 1920×1280 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. The screen side of the device will probably get a 5-megapixel webcam, just like its predecessor. the 8-megapixel rear camera is expected to remain unchanged.

The cheapest Surface Go 3 variant with 4GB memory was for sale at the Thai web store for more than 380 euros. The Pentium and i3 variants with 8GB of memory cost 520 and 575 euros respectively. However, these prices are still unconfirmed and it is likely that official suggested retail prices for the European market will differ.

Earlier this month, rumors about the Microsoft Surface Go 3. WinFuture already shared some specifications of the device, in which the tech website stated that the Go 3 would have Intel Amber Lake chips, a 10.5 “screen and 4 or 8GB of memory, which now appears to have been confirmed, Microsoft will be holding a livestream on Wednesday, September 22 at 5:00 PM CET, in which it is expected to introduce new Surface Go laptops, along with some other Surface devices.
