The Tor Project has released an emergency fix under version number 13.0.8 for the Browser desktop application due to a crash caused by incompatibility with Windows 7.

The organization writes that an earlier update to the Go toolchain appears to have ‘broken’ Windows 7 support. In the changelog the developer of Tor, whose full name is The Onion Router, urges users to switch to an operating system that is still supported for the time being, including a modern Linux distribution or Windows 10 or newer. Support for the Tor Browser for Windows 7 and 8 will officially end next year.
