TCL releases a new budget smartphone. The Alcatel 1B 2020 is equipped with a Snapdragon 215-soc, an 18:9 LCD with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of flash storage. The device runs on Android 10 Go Edition.

The Snapdragon 215-soc in the phone was announced by Qualcomm early last year. It is a chip that is still being made using an old 28nm process. The soc has four Cortex-A53 cores at a speed of 1.3GHz and is equipped with an Adreno 308 GPU.

The phone has room for two SIM cards and a micro SD card. The device has dimensions of 146.1×71.6×9.9mm. The battery has a capacity of 3000mAh. TCL equips the budget smartphone with an IPS LCD of 5.5 “with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels. The front camera is located in the edge above the screen.

On the back is an 8-megapixel camera. For this, TLC uses a GC8034 sensor of the small 1/4 “size. On the front is a 5-megapixel sensor, a GC5035 of the even smaller 1/5” size. The phone can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

The Alcatel 1B contains 16GB of flash storage and 2GB of ram. The memory can be expanded with a micro SD card of up to 32 GB. The phone runs on Android 10 Go Edition, the lightweight version of Google’s mobile operating system.

Last week, TCL also announced the Alcatel 1SE, that device is also known as the Alcatel 1S 2020 and is a few tens more expensive. In that phone is an octacore from Unisoc and a 4000mAh battery. The screen of that device has a notch for the front camera.
