TCL introduces Nxtpaper 3.0 and announces compatible tablets and smartphones

TCL has presented version 3.0 of its Nxtpaper screen technology. This new iteration would be even better at imitating paper and would also exhibit less flickering. The manufacturer will build the tech into its upcoming tablets and smartphones.

TCL is here in their own words managed to make Nxtpaper 3.0 screens look even more like paper. The company is said to have developed a new type of screen that can imitate ‘the emission, reflection and refraction of light rays’ in a more natural way. These new screens are also said to support higher refresh rates and no longer flicker during use in certain scenarios. The company has also baked three new modes into its software that should make reading easier: a mode that should make the compatible device emit less blue light, a low-contrast mode and a black and white mode that can mimic an e-reader experience.

The manufacturer has also announced several devices with this Nxtpaper 3 at CES: a 14″ tablet called Nxtpaper 14 Pro, a 10″ tablet called Tab 10 Nxtpaper 5G and also some smartphones from the TCL 50 line. . The Nxtpaper 14 Pro has a 2.8k screen. This device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8020, and has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage space. The capacity of the battery is 12,000mAh and the battery can fast charge at 33W. It is not clear when this tablet will appear on the market and exactly how much the device will cost.

The TCL Tab 10 Nxtpaper 5G has a 10.4” screen. The device runs on an octa-core processor from an unknown brand and has 5G connectivity. TCL does not make it clear when the device will be for sale and for how much money. The manufacturer also wants to launch new smartphones that use display technology. It will introduce new models from the TCL 50 line during 2024.
