Talpa Network has taken a strategic stake in the Czech computer vision company Camvision. Among other things, it wants to use the technology to automatically stream amateur football matches.

Talpa announces that Camvision, founded in 2007, is engaged in the automated capture and streaming of sports matches. It also develops sports analysis software. On its website, Camvision states that it provides recording services that do not require manual camera control and highlight key moments. The analysis part makes it possible, among other things, to follow individual players.

Together with the KNVB, Talpa wants to use the technology for its service VoetbalTV, which was announced at the end of last year, and which focuses on amateur football. The intention is to automatically broadcast eighty thousand matches per year via the service. The matches are recorded using smart cameras. In addition, this should make it possible for coaches to analyze a large number of matches.

VoetbalTV should start on September 1. According to the earlier announcement, a pilot would start after the winter break and 750 fields should be equipped with cameras within three years.
