Google will stop supporting the Glass Explorer Edition, the augmented reality glasses introduced in 2012. After February 25, support will no longer be provided, but it will still be possible to use the ar glasses.

A support page has opened for the Explorer Edition of Glass, with Google indicating that one more software update will be released. Users must install these if they want to continue using the glasses. After February 25, the software update will be available for installation for another two years. On the support page, Google has set out a step-by-step plan to install the software.

This latest update ends support for the Glass Explorer Edition after 7 years. In 2012, Google released its first version of the smart glasses, after which sales to the general public began a year later.

Although Google will not continue with the Explorer Edition of the glasses, support for the business version, the Enterprise Edition, remains. Earlier this year, Google made a new version of it, which includes a more powerful processor.
