Sony has announced the prices of the XG95 televisions. These high-end 4K LCD TVs with fald come in a variety of picture sizes starting from 55″. This smallest version has a suggested retail price of 1900 euros. Sales start in mid-March.

The XG95 series consists of four models with ascending screen diagonals: 55″, 65″, 75 and 85″. The smallest will be priced at 1,900 euros, while the 65-inch version will cost 2,600 euros and the 75-inch version has a suggested retail price. of 4500 euros. Sony says it will announce the suggested retail price of the 85″ version at a later date.

These TVs from the XG95 series all have a 4k resolution and have the Picture Processor X1 Ultimate soc. The televisions also have the so-called X-Motion Clarity, in which black frame insertion is applied based on zones. That should reduce motion blur in moving images.

With regard to HDR support, the most important standards are supported, namely HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. For a good HDR display, the TVs have fald, although it is not clear how many dimmable zones are present. Sony does not mention the maximum brightness of the TVs. Imax Enhanced is also supported, as is the Netflix Calibrated Mode.

To improve viewing angles, only the 75″ and 85″ models feature X-Wide Angle; according to the manufacturer, this prevents the color change when the television is viewed from a certain angle. Chromecast is also built-in and the TVs have Google Assistant.

The XG95 televisions support Dolby Atmos and according to Sony they have Acoustic Multi-Audio. In addition, the tweeters are in fact integrated into the screen edges next to the screen, which according to the manufacturer ensures that the sound seems to come directly from the screen and the position of the sound source is accurately reproduced. However, this does not include a system like Sony’s OLED televisions, where the panel is vibrated to produce sound that actually comes out of the screen.

All TVs from the XG95 series will be available in the Benelux sometime in mid-March. As usual, the Sony TVs run on Android TV, which is version 8 Oreo.
