Sonos has announced the Move 2, a portable Bluetooth speaker that, unlike its predecessor, should offer stereo sound. The first Move only had mono sound. Furthermore, the battery life has more than doubled. The speaker will be released later this month for 499 euros.

The Move 2 has dual tweeters instead of the single tweeter of the first Move, allowing the new variant to produce stereo sound. In addition, there is a single woofer. The battery life has also been increased from 10 hours to 24 hours. The battery is also replaceable. The Move 2 can also function as a power bank with the USB-C port. The speaker itself can be charged with USB-PD or the included wireless charger. The portable speaker has an IP56 certification and is resistant to drops, rain, dirt and sunlight, Sonos says.

Like other Sonos speakers, the Move 2 can work together with other Sonos speakers, such as other Move 2 speakers. This way, the speakers can play the same sound at the same time or stereo sound can be provided with two separate Move 2 speakers. This connection is made via WiFi. Music streaming is also possible with WiFi, or via Bluetooth or Apple AirPlay 2. The Move 2 speaker has the same user interface as the Era products, supports Sonos Voice Control and Amazon Alexa, has a capacitive volume control and can adjust the sound to the desired environment with Trueplay. environment.

The Sonos Move 2 comes in black, white and olive green. The speaker has dimensions of 241x160x127mm and weighs 3kg including battery. The speaker also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, but can also be connected via Ethernet with an adapter. The speaker will be released on September 20.
