Download Xfire 1.89

Xfire today released version 1.89 of its eponymous chat program, which is mainly intended for avid gamers. It is possible to chat in Xfire both inside and outside games via text and speech. Furthermore, statistics are kept of the performance in various games, you can see which games the people from your contact list are playing at that moment and game patches and demos can be downloaded via a private P2P network. At the moment, just over a thousand games are supported, 175 of which are the so-called ‘one click join‘ and over 500 ‘in game chat‘ support. The changelog for this release shows the following changes:

• Increased the screenshot limit of uploaded images from 15MB to 150MB.
• *beta* Added the ability to upload game videos to your profile page. Read more in the FAQ.
• Fixed bug with xfcodec.dll causing other AVI files to load improperly.
• Fixed CPU load issue with chat rooms with lots of people in them.
• Reworked voice chat internals to work much better on certain poorly-performing sound devices.
• Fixed Shadow skin display bug with non-default text size.
• Added buttons to the chat, screenshot, and video tabs on Shadow skin.
