Software Update: WinRAR 6.00 Beta 2

Spread the love

RAR Labs has released the second beta release of version 6.00 of its archiving programs RAR and WinRAR. This popular compression tool is available for a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. The program handles the most common formats – including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, uue, bz2, jar, iso, 7z and z – has a skinnable interface, and support for Zip64 and multivolume cab -files. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New:

  • “Convert” and “Wizard: Unpack an archive” commands report the file open error if archive was deleted by some other application before processing. Previously they skipped such archives silently.
  • “Find” command issues “No files or folders selected” warning for no items selected and “Selected items” search area.

Bug fixed:

  • In beta 1 names of interface themes were added to “Folder tree” submenu instead of “Themes”;
  • %arcname% variable was not expanded in archiving dialog profile name when used in default profile.
